Anna Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath, the romantic drama film Piano. For this part, she was awarded the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress for the romantic comedy The Piano at the young age of 11. The actress is second youngest recipient in Oscar history. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) and A Walk on the Moon (2000). The actress played the role of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
