Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his home with volunteering in the community. The first time the Selmons were brought up with Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie on a farm near Eufala within Oklahoma as the youngest of the nine children they had. Second football he was the third brother who played for Oklahoma. Three brothers were All-America. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. In his time as Oklahoma's starting quarterback The Sooners recorded a 32-1-1 record and won two national titles. Selmon was honored when the National Football Foundation named him a Scholar-Athlete for the third time in the year 1975. Selmon obtained a degree as an educator. Lee Roy's fourth service consisted of ten hours a week of volunteer time in college. After graduation, he landed in Tampa and played for nine seasons with the Buccaneers were all-pro three times and started his business career. The first position he held was an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked in the past for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when, in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of the 10 young stars across the nation. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 7-foot-2. In his time at for college, he was the head coach of the team of 1975. In 1993, he was appointed the athletic director's assistant at University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988. He was also named to the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994, and then the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. His parents, Lucious as well as Mary Selmon, Jr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
